“With an unprecedented confluence of will, resources and urgency, there has never been a better time to be a science and technology Innovator in Hong Kong. Let’s take this once-in-a-generation opportunity to make a difference”.

Dennis Lo

Over the last two decades, innovation and entrepreneurship in life sciences and healthcare sectors have been receiving increased attention, both in terms of scholarly research and the number of innovative enterprises. A McKinsey paper states that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the healthcare sector experienced dramatic changes, with novel business models, unexpected collaborations, and accelerated timelines requiring organisations to rethink how they operate. In recent years, to advance the new economy, governments, i.e. Hong Kong, Singapore, and Israel encourage government-industry-academic / research institution collaboration to translate R&D outcomes into business innovations and drive socio-economic impacts, such as enhancing the quality of and access to healthcare.

This hybrid event illustrates successful innovation and entrepreneurship in life sciences and healthcare, as well as inspires young talents to make new breakthroughs to create and transfer knowledge to accelerate the economy and make societal impacts.
